Training

ECO will run over 4 years and will offer a 3 year training program for 11 Long-Term early stage Researchers (LTR) leading to a PhD degree. Moreover, additional training of about 37 Short-Term early stage Researchers (STR) will also be provided (150 person-months). The STRs will get a dedicated training in specific areas of their interest within the ECO. They will need to apply for fellowships by providing a plan of training (to be prepared with one of the ECO participants). Because of the complexity of training which will involve both computational, experimental and legislation aspects, it is important to unite the proposed large number of Schools and visits, to guarantee innovative and synergistic interactions and excellent level of training.

After recruitment, a career development plan (CDP) is elaborated for each LTR under direct guidance of his/her direct (local) supervisor and SB. The receiving host institutions during research exchanges and external industry/authority mentors will be also consulted. Following this CDP, the fellow enters the training program consisting of his/her primary research expert training as well as complementing training activities. The plan includes a detailed time schedule for all major research and training tasks to be accomplished within the specific fellowship, as well as interactions within the network and with associated partners. It especially considers the educational background and scientific interests of the fellow and his/her professional goals.
