AiChemist (Explainable AI for Molecules - AiChemist) within Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network (DN) for Doctoraal Candidates (DC) funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe Programme. Fellows will work to develop and benchmark explainable representation learning approaches, addressing their accuracy and ADs, using public and in-house data for endpoints ranging from chemical reactions to toxicity.

AIDD (Advanced machine learning for Innovative Drug Discovery) is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) for Early Stage Researchers (ESR) funded by the European Commission under the H2020 Programme. Fellows employed will be supervised by academics who have excellent complementary expertise, in addition to having contributed some of the fundamental AI algorithms used billions of times per day in the world, and leading EU pharma companies who are in charge of new medicine and public health.

BIGCHEM (BIG data in CHEMistry) is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) for Early Stage Researchers (ESR) funded by the European Commission under the H2020 Programme. The BIGCHEM ITN will provide a comprehensive and cross-disciplinary structured curriculum for doctoral students in large chemical data analysis using machine-learning, computational chemistry and chemoinformatics methods. The innovative research program will be implemented with the target users, large pharma companies and SMEs, which generate and analyse large chemical data.

On January 26 2016, SLAS announced that article of Schorpp, K. et al Identification of Small-Molecule Frequent Hitters from AlphaScreen High-Throughput Screens J. Biomol. Screen. 2014, 19 715-726 received 2016 JBS Readers Choice Award. ECO fellow Mrs. Elena Salmina contributed to the chemoinformatics analysis of this study during her short-term fellowship in HMGU, group of Dr. Tetko.

On December 9 2015, Dr. Alessandra Pirovano successfully defended her PhD thesis at the Radboud University. Dr. Prirovano was ECO fellow at the same University. The topic of her thesis is "Quantifying biotransformation of xenobiotics in mammals" under supervisor of Prof. dr. ir. A.J. Hendriks.

From 15 to 18 September, 2013, the Final Conference of the Marie Curie ITN programme "Environmental ChemOinformatics" (ECO) will take place in Prien at Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria, Germany. All scientists and stakeholders interested in the newest developments in chemoinformatics - QSAR, REACH requirements and drug development included - will have the chance to join the conference program and to present own scientific results in posters and presentations. Besides exciting and inspiring plenary lectures by international accepted experts, the conference committee will award a price for the best poster as well as for the best presentation. From 25 February to 1 March, 2013, 3rd Winter School of the Marie Curie ITN programme "Environmental ChemOinformatics" (ECO) will take place in Kalmar, Sweden.

On December 20, 2012, Dr. Pantelis Sopasakis successfully defended his PhD thesis at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), School of Chemical Engineering, Unit of Process Control and Informatics. Pantelis Sopasakis was ECO fellow at the ECO coordinator HMGU. The topic of his thesis is "Modelling and Control of Biological and Physiological Systems". Supervisor of his doctoral thesis was Associate Professor Haralambos Sarimveis, National Technical University of Athens.

On December 19, 2012, Dr. Marta Llorca successfully defended her PhD thesis at University of Barcelona. Marta Llorca was ECO fellow at the German partner Hochschule Fresenius. The topic of her thesis is "Analysis of perfluoroalquil substances in food and environmental samples". Supervisor of her doctoral thesis were Dr. Marinella Farré and Prof. Damià Barceló, both IDAEA-CSIC.

On July 6, 2012, Dr. Ing. Tobias Frömel successfully defended his PhD thesis at Technical University Berlin. Tobias Frömel was ECO fellow at the Dutch partner Leiden University. The topic of his thesis is "Biotransformation, trace analysis and effects of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances". Supervisor of his doctoral thesis was Prof. Thomas Knepper, Hochschule Fresenius.

On March 28, 2012, Dr. Ioana Oprisiu successfully defended her PhD thesis at University Strasbourg. Ioana Oprisiu was ECO fellow at the ECO coordinator HMGU. The topic of her thesis is "Modélisation QSPR de mélanges binaires non-additifs. Application au comportement azéotropique". Supervisor of her doctoral thesis was Prof. Alexander Varnek, University Strasbourg.
