BIGCHEM (BIG data in CHEMistry) is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN) for Early Stage Researchers (ESR) funded by the European Commission under the H2020 Programme. The BIGCHEM ITN will provide a comprehensive and cross-disciplinary structured curriculum for doctoral students in large chemical data analysis using machine-learning, computational chemistry and chemoinformatics methods. Final conference in Environmental ChemOinformatics at Lake Chiemsee
From 15 to 18 September, 2013, the Final Conference of the Marie Curie ITN programme "Environmental ChemOinformatics" (ECO) will take place in Prien at Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria, Germany. All scientists and stakeholders interested in the newest developments in chemoinformatics - QSAR, REACH requirements and drug development included - will have the chance to join the conference program and to present own scientific results in posters and presentations. Besides exciting and inspiring plenary lectures by international accepted experts, the conference committee will award a price for the best poster as well as for the best presentation. Fourth successful PhD in ECO network
On December 20, 2012, Dr. Pantelis Sopasakis successfully defended his PhD thesis at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), School of Chemical Engineering, Unit of Process Control and Informatics. Pantelis Sopasakis was ECO fellow at the ECO coordinator HMGU. The topic of his thesis is "Modelling and Control of Biological and Physiological Systems". On December 19, 2012, Dr. Marta Llorca successfully defended her PhD thesis at University of Barcelona. Marta Llorca was ECO fellow at the German partner Hochschule Fresenius. On July 6, 2012, Dr. Ing. Tobias Frömel successfully defended his PhD thesis at Technical University Berlin. Tobias Frömel was ECO fellow at the Dutch partner Leiden University.
