MODELKEY (26 partners, FP6, 2005-2010) comprises a multidisciplinary approach aiming at developing interlinked and verified predictive modeling tools as well as state-of-the-art effect-assessment and analytical methods generally applicable to European freshwater and marine ecosystems. MODELKEY combines predictive tools for modeling exposure and effects on higher levels of biological organization to identify key modes of action, key toxicants and key parameters determining exposure.
Collaboration with ECO:Quantification of the effects of mixtures of chemicals typically having a wide array of modes of toxic action is essential to predict actually occurring effects at realistic environmental conditions.
